I'm Jenny Wong and I'm running for Berkeley City Auditor.
I've been a Berkeley resident for 24 years and an auditor for the federal government's Government Accountability Office (GAO) for the last 18 years.
As your City Auditor, I will work aggressively to ensure city funds are being properly spent, services are being delivered fairly and equitably, I will promote transparency in City government, and I will engage the entire community in the process.
I am an immigrant, a Cal grad - also the first in my family to graduate from college, and mother to twin boys at Berkeley High.
I am a former member of the Berkeley Labor Commission and Budget Review Commissions, I have authored or contributed to numerous program audits which improved services and resulted in the recapture of billions of dollars of lost revenue, and I currently organize trainings across the country for government auditors. I have also worked to improve mental health and housing services in local government.
I'm proud to be endorsed by outgoing City Auditor Ann-Marie Hogan and a wide range of community leaders, but as someone who has never held elected office, I will also bring an independent outside approach to the Auditor position.
I'm excited to bring my experience, background, and progressive values to the city I love.
I hope you'll join me.
